Mark Alfred

Mark Alfred is the co-author of Irwin Allen’s Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea: The Authorized Biography of a Classic Sci-Fi  TV Series.

He graduated with an English degree from Oklahoma City University, intending to teach middle-school English.  He was a staff writer and editor for two publishing companies before moving to retail management.

Since the mid-1980s, Mark’s non-fiction about Star Trek and comic books has appeared in magazines and half a dozen paperback anthologies. He has edited numerous books for Jacobs Brown Press, including The Show Runner, by Cy Chermak; Previously on X-Men, by Eric Lewald; Long Distance Voyagers: The Story of the Moody Blues, by Marc Cushman; and the Irwin Allen series: three-volume Irwin Allen’s Lost in Space: The Authorized Biography of a Classic TV Series, by Marc Cushman.  He also served as a member of the editorial team for Marc Cushman’s award-winning series, These Are the Voyages – Star Trek: The Original Series, and its upcoming sequel, These Are the Voyages: Gene Roddenberry and Star Trek in the 1970s.

Mark Alfred is a longtime supporter of sci-fi fandom in Oklahoma City and was the first President of the Future Society of Central Oklahoma.  He reads past and future history, and blogs about all facets of pop culture at markssuperblog.blogspot.com.
