Ernest Haller was the second cinematographer to work on Star Trek®, serving as Director of Photography for the pilot film Where No Man Has Gone Before. He actually came out of retirement to take this job and ended his illustrious career with Star Trek®. Prior to this, he had been nominated for seven Academy Awards in the category of Best Cinematography. Among the seven were Lilies of the Field, Mildred Pierce and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? The movie for which he won the Oscar was none other than Gone with the Wind.

Jerry Finnerman served as Director of Photography on more episodes of Star Trek® than any other cinematographer. Among his seven Emmy nominations were Moonlighting, Kojak and From Here to Eternity. He won the Emmy in 1978 for Ziegfeld: The Man and His Women. Find out more about these talented men, and all those who worked on the first Star Trek®, both behind and in front of the camera, in These are the Voyages - TOS, Season One, by Marc Cushman, scheduled for release in June 2013 by Jacobs/Brown Press.
