5 out of 5 Banana Breads
Run—don’t walk—to this party. With Previously on X-Men, Lewald has crafted the bible for X-Men: The Animated Series. If you have ever been curious about the behind-the-scenes workings of a cartoon from conception to completion, what goes into casting, ideas that worked and those that didn’t—or if you were just curious where the heck all those quotes of classic literature Beast recites came from—it’s all here!

...there’s no better way to celebrate it and its creators than by picking up the amazingly detailed and well crafted Previously on X-Men: The Making of an Animated Series. Again, it’s not just for fans of the X-Men, but also for fans of the process.

...fascinating to go behind the scenes of a hit television show and see how it came together. Especially when that hit show was nearly ruined by a bunch of people who thought they had better ideas.

...a treasure trove of value for pop culture historians as well as television production nerds. Above all else, Eric delivered jaw-dropping revelations for longtime Marvel fans.

No stone was left unturned and I learned things I never could have imagined I would WANT to know!

....a legit page-turner.   Lewald provides the reader with a behind-the-scenes guide that is, well, juicy. It’s compelling, funny, at points a little weird, and most surprisingly moving. You can feel all the love and dedication that these people put into XTAS and what a blast they had making it.
Michael Mommano, Den of Geek!

....an unusually candid look at how hard it is to not only create a hit show, but keep it running — sometimes even as the powers that be fight you at every turn..... and now fans will know all the work that went into making it that way.
